Woman Airlifted Following Serious Dog Bite

A 26-year-old woman was flown to a trauma center early Tuesday morning after suffering a serious dog-bite injury at a residential location in Hollywood, Maryland.

Emergency personnel were dispatched at approximately 2:55 a.m. on July 28 to the 41900 block of Satchel Paige Way after receiving a report of an animal bite.

Initial information indicated that a dog had bitten the woman on the arm. Police officers responded and secured the scene, allowing firefighters and emergency medical personnel to reach the patient and begin treatment.

Because of the seriousness of the injury, responders requested a medical helicopter. A crew from the Maryland State Police Aviation Command landed in the area and transported the woman aboard Trooper 7 to UM Capital Region Medical Center.

The patient’s injuries were classified as serious. Authorities did not publicly release her name or provide an update on her medical condition following the flight.
