Four-vehicle Crash in Reisterstown Results in Death

A tragic accident on Wednesday afternoon has left the Maryland State Police with many questions. A four-car crash on I-795 has caused a four-hour road closure as investigators work tirelessly to determine the cause of this deadly event. Emergency personnel arrived just after 1 p.m. to the scene on I-795 North before the Westminster Pike, where they were met with the devastating sight.

The accident occurred when a Ford F150 pick up rear ended a 2005 Ford F350 pickup, causing both trucks to roll into the median and end up in the northbound lanes. The incident resulted in the head-on collision of the F350 with a 2017 Toyota Rav4, which ultimately claimed the life of 30 year old Kaitlin Elizabeth Stranick who died at the scene.

The chaotic scene continued to unfold as a fourth vehicle, a 2016 Toyota Corolla, collided with debris from the initial crash. The driver of the Ford F350, a 23-year-old man, was rushed to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.Thankfully, the drivers of the other two vehicles were not hurt. 

With the Maryland State Police Crash Team still investigating the matter, it remains unclear as to what led to the accident. Upon completion of the investigation, the MSP Crash Team is expected to hand its findings to the Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s Office, which will then decide whether or not charges will be pressed. This serves as a harrowing reminder of the importance of safe driving practices on our roads. It’s a sobering reality that a momentary lapse in judgment or distraction can have devastating consequences for individuals and their families.
