A Pickup Truck Crashed in The Woods With an ATV Resulting in Injuries
Incident Information
On Friday, June 21, 2024, around 10:00 p.m., emergency services including police, fire, and rescue were called to the Gospel Tabernacle of Prayer on Budds Creek Road in Clements, following reports of a serious motor vehicle accident with individuals trapped.
Initial reports indicated that a truck had collided with an ATV, causing one person to be ejected from the ATV. The truck ended up in the woods with one person trapped inside. Firefighters from Seventh District and Leonardtown arrived at the scene to discover a three-vehicle collision, with one person still inside a vehicle off the road in the woods and an ATV on the roadway.
It was soon clarified that the ATV had been thrown from the bed of the pickup truck that had veered off the road into the woods. The truck’s driver was found trapped, and rescue crews had to remove the door and roof to reach him. A helicopter was requested to transport the 35-year-old male to a trauma center. The drivers of the other two vehicles involved declined medical treatment at the scene.
The driver of the red truck was airlifted to a regional trauma center by Maryland State Police Helicopter Trooper 7. Police are currently investigating the incident.
