Incident Information

On Sunday morning, a group of motorcyclists were traveling on I-270 near Doctor Perry Road in Ijamsville, MD when one of the bikes began to wobble. The driver, 44-year-old Shaun Vincent Thomas of Cleveland, Ohio, lost control and was ejected from the motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The interstate was closed for an hour while police conducted their investigation. This is a tragic reminder of the dangers of motorcycle riding and the importance of always wearing a helmet. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mr. Thomas’s family during this difficult time.
