Incident Information

A violent T-bone crash in Hollywood, Maryland, left multiple people injured Sunday afternoon and triggered a large emergency response that included extrication, CPR, ambulance transport, and a medical helicopter. Authorities said the collision happened at the intersection of Hollywood Road and Three Notch Road, a well-traveled junction in St. Mary’s County.

Emergency crews were dispatched at about 4:38 p.m. on March 15, 2026, after receiving a report of a motor vehicle collision with a trapped occupant. According to dispatch information cited in the report, the crash was a T-bone collision on the southbound side of Three Notch Road. Firefighters arriving at the scene found one person trapped in a vehicle and were able to free that patient within minutes.

First responders encountered several injured victims and quickly escalated care. The report said one patient required lifesaving measures, with CPR underway at the scene, and CPR was later initiated on a second patient as well. Authorities ultimately said four people were injured. Two were listed in critical condition, while other patients were also transported for treatment.

Because of the severity of the injuries, a Maryland State Police Aviation Command helicopter was requested, and a landing zone was set up at the Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department. One patient who required CPR was taken by ambulance to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital. A second patient was flown by Trooper 7 to the same hospital. The report also stated that two additional patients were later transported there by ambulance.

Traffic in the area was expected to remain affected for an extended period while emergency crews worked the scene and investigators examined the cause of the crash. Police have not yet released the identities of those involved or announced what factors may have led to the collision. For residents and commuters in southern Maryland, the crash marked another serious reminder of how quickly a high-speed side-impact collision can become a life-threatening emergency.
