Man Dies in Gaithersburg After Being Struck by a Camry on Watkins Mills Road

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (7News) — A man was killed early Wednesday morning after being hit by a car in Gaithersburg, according to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD).
The incident occurred around 5:31 a.m. on Watkins Mill Road near Route 355. Police say the man was crossing the road when he was struck by a silver Toyota Camry traveling eastbound.
The driver remained at the scene and attempted life-saving measures until emergency responders arrived. Despite those efforts, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
MCPD’s Collision Reconstruction Unit is currently investigating the incident. The identity of the victim will be released once next of kin are notified.
The crash temporarily closed roads in the area, which have since been reopened.
