Pedestrian Hit-and-Run Accident on I-95 Leaves 33-Year-Old Man Dead

ABINGDON, MD — Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that left a pedestrian dead early Sunday morning in Harford County.

Troopers from the Maryland State Police JFK Memorial Highway Barrack were called to the scene just after 2 a.m. on June 29. The crash occurred on northbound I-95, just south of the Riverside Parkway exit.

According to the preliminary investigation, a 33-year-old man was walking in the left lane of the highway when he was struck by a vehicle believed to be a 2021–2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The driver did not stop and fled the scene before authorities arrived. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene; his identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage and asking the public for help identifying the suspect vehicle. Authorities believe the Jeep Grand Cherokee may have sustained noticeable front-end damage. Anyone with information is urged to contact Maryland State Police as the investigation remains active and ongoing.
