Persia Ransford and Luis Del Cid Were Injured in a Early-Morning Car Crash in Baltimore County

BALTIMORE COUNTY (WBFF) — Maryland State Police are investigating a multi-vehicle crash that left two individuals injured in Baltimore County early Sunday morning.
At approximately 2:50 a.m. on February 23, officers responded to a serious crash on southbound Interstate 95 near Arbutus.
According to police, a 2008 Mercury Mountaineer, driven by 27-year-old Persia Ransford of Takoma Park, was traveling southbound when it collided with the rear of a tractor-trailer.
A 2016 Toyota Corolla, driven by 53-year-old Luis Del Cid of Middle River, then struck the Mercury in the southbound lanes.
Both Ransford and Del Cid were transported to Shock Trauma in Baltimore with injuries.
The roadways in the area were closed for several hours as investigators conducted their work at the scene.
Authorities believe that impairment may have played a role in the crash, which remains under investigation.
