Green Custom Motorcycle Collides with Ford Explorer Resulting in Death

The Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Kent Island Saturday evening. The two-vehicle collision happened on Love Point Road near the intersection of Old Love Point Road at around 7 p.m. When troopers from the Centreville Barracks arrived at the scene, they found a black Ford Explorer with heavy front-end damage and a green custom motorcycle underneath it. The operator of the motorcycle was declared dead at the scene by paramedics. The preliminary investigation found that the Ford Explorer, driven by Patricia J. Ciesla of Stevensville, was heading north on Love Point Road when it approached a curve at the Old Love Point Road intersection. Shimer was not able to ride around the curve safely. The motorcycle fell over and slid out of the southbound lane into the lane going the opposite way in front of the Ford Explorer. The Ford Explorer was not able to stop in time and hit the motorcycle. The investigation is ongoing.
