Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash Kills Four in Carroll County Maryland

Incident Information

Tragedy struck in Maryland this weekend as four individuals lost their lives in a horrific three-vehicle collision. The incident occurred in Carroll County, and all four sadly shared a hometown of New Windsor, Maryland. The victims were all traveling in the same vehicle when they were making a left turn and were hit from behind at an intersection, ultimately culminating in a third vehicle striking their car. The impact of the crash was so severe that it claimed the lives of the four victims.

The 72-year-old driver, Charles Black III, as well as Barbara Black, 69, and Debbie Hill, 63 died at the scene. The devastating incident also left two teenagers severely injured, with Gage Black, 17, later succumbing to his injuries at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. The condition of the other passenger, Phillip Ceresa, 15, remains unclear. The impact of the accident was felt beyond the victims and their loved ones, as a passenger from another vehicle involved in the crash also required medical attention at Carroll Hospital in Westminster.

Investigators have clarified that they do not believe impaired driving played a role in the accident, but the exact cause of the crash remains under investigation. The entire community is mourning the loss of these individuals.
