FedEx Driver Hospitalized After Crash That Caused Truck To Flip and Catch on Fire

Incident Information

A FedEx driver is in the hospital following a severe crash on Saturday evening on Interstate 270 in Montgomery County, Maryland. The collision caused the delivery truck to overturn and catch fire.

Montgomery County Fire & Rescue responded to the scene around 7:30 p.m., located on the southbound I-270 spur near Westlake Terrace and Democracy Boulevard.

Upon arrival, first responders found the FedEx truck on its side, engulfed in flames, and resting across the highway median. Crews quickly extinguished the fire, and the driver was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

A second vehicle was also involved in the crash, but no one in that car was hospitalized.

Maryland State Police are currently investigating the cause of the incident.
