LEONARDTOWN, Md. — A multi-vehicle crash shut down Point Lookout Road in both directions Tuesday afternoon, prompting a large emergency response near College Circle.

The collision happened around 4:03 p.m. on Sept. 9, 2025. When first responders arrived, they found the vehicles about 200 feet apart, with one overturned into a roadside ditch.

Emergency medical crews assessed the occupants at the scene and transported one person to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital for additional treatment.

By 4:20 p.m., traffic on Point Lookout Road remained closed in both directions as crews continued their response.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the crash.
