BALTIMORE — A 4-year-old child was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle late this morning in South Baltimore, Baltimore police said.

The crash occurred around 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 15 in the 1000 block of Veronica Avenue, near Arundel Elementary School. The child was transported to Johns Hopkins Pediatrics for treatment and was reported to be conscious and breathing despite sustaining serious injuries.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
