A 70-year-old Howard County man was killed and two others were injured in a two-vehicle crash Monday evening in Aberdeen, according to police.

Kelvin Bennett, of Ellicott City, was pronounced dead at the scene, the Aberdeen Police Department said. He was a passenger in a Nissan Maxima driven by a 63-year-old man. The driver was transported to UM Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Aberdeen for treatment.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 23-year-old man, was flown by Maryland State Police Medevac to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was reported to be in critical condition.

Aberdeen officers responded to the crash around 6:51 p.m. in the 200 block of South Philadelphia Boulevard along Route 40. The Harford County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Unit also assisted at the scene.

Police said no criminal charges have been filed at this time, and the investigation remains ongoing.
