On August 19, 2024, around 5:55 p.m., emergency crews responded to a major vehicle accident on New Market Turner Road, near Livingston Drive.

When first responders arrived, they found a head-on collision involving two vehicles. Both occupants were injured, with one critically injured and trapped inside their vehicle. Due to the severity of the injuries, a MEDEVAC was immediately dispatched.

Firefighters quickly worked to free the trapped individual, while EMS personnel performed CPR on-site. Sadly, the individual was pronounced dead shortly afterward.

The State Highway Administration was called in to handle the cleanup of fluids on the road.

Expect the road to remain closed for an extended period.

The police are actively investigating the cause of the accident.
