Lothian Head-On Collision Kills 39-Year-Old Motorcyclist

LOTHIAN, Md. — Police are investigating a deadly crash involving a motorcycle Tuesday night in Anne Arundel County.
Officers were called to Route 4 near Route 258 around 7:55 p.m. after reports of a collision.
According to investigators, a Yamaha sport bike was traveling north in the southbound lanes of Route 4 when it struck a Cadillac head-on.
The motorcyclist, identified as 39-year-old David Martin Sweet, Jr., died from his injuries.
A 14-year-old girl riding in the Cadillac was flown to Shock Trauma, where she is listed in critical but stable condition. The Cadillac’s driver, a 24-year-old man, was also injured but is in stable condition.
Police said their Crash Reconstruction Team is leading the investigation.
