Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Collides with a Tractor-Trailer Resulting in Death

On Friday night, a 65-year-old man from Baltimore was killed in a motorcycle accident in Elkridge. Harold Leonard Hopkins Jr. was driving his Harley-Davidson Sportster north on Route 1 near Brookdale Drive when he was hit by a tractor-trailer that was turning left from the southbound lanes. Hopkins Jr. was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the tractor trailer was uninjured. The cause of the collision is still under investigation. Route 1 in the area was closed for about three hours.
