Three patients were taken to area hospitals
Incident Information
Three people were injured Monday evening after a T-bone collision at a busy intersection in California, Maryland.
The crash occurred around 8:15 p.m. on June 29, 2026, at Three Notch Road and MacArthur Boulevard. Emergency crews were dispatched for a motor vehicle crash with injuries, and fire and EMS personnel evaluated multiple patients at the scene.
According to The BayNet, two patients were transported by ambulance to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital. A third patient was taken by ground to UM Capital Region Medical Center for treatment. The article did not identify the people involved or provide the makes and models of the vehicles.
Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
T-bone crashes, also known as side-impact collisions, can be particularly dangerous because the side of a vehicle offers less protection than the front or rear. These crashes often happen at intersections and may involve questions about traffic signals, turning movements, right-of-way, visibility, speed, and driver attentiveness.
Three Notch Road, also known as Maryland Route 235, is one of the main traffic corridors through St. Mary’s County. The intersection with MacArthur Boulevard serves local commercial and residential traffic, making it an area where vehicles frequently enter, exit, turn, and merge.
Because three people required transport to hospitals, investigators may review witness statements, vehicle positions, traffic camera availability, and damage patterns to determine how the collision occurred. The fact that one patient was transported to UM Capital Region Medical Center suggests that at least one person may have needed a higher level of evaluation or trauma care.
