Incident Information

On July 21, 2024, just after 1:20 a.m., emergency responders attended to a pedestrian crash on US Rt. 301, Crain Highway, near Acton Lane in Waldorf.

A preliminary investigation revealed that a white 2019 Nissan Murano was traveling northbound on US Rt. 301, north of Acton Lane, when it struck a pedestrian standing in the roadway.

The pedestrian, identified as 17-year-old Wilmer Roman Esquivel from Brentwood, New York, was pronounced dead at the scene by Charles County EMS personnel.

The Maryland State Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
