Frederick Highway Crash Claims the Life of 93-Year-Old Man

FREDERICK, Md. — A 93-year-old man was killed Wednesday morning in a three-vehicle crash north of Frederick, according to Maryland State Police.
Troopers responded shortly after 8 a.m. to the southbound lanes of U.S. Route 15 near Hansonville Road.
Preliminary findings indicate the man was attempting to cross Route 15 when his vehicle was struck by a Toyota Camry. The impact pushed his car into a telephone pole, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. A third vehicle was also hit by debris from the crash.
The driver of the Toyota was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, while the driver of the third vehicle was not injured, police said.
The crash remains under investigation.
