Baby, Feared Injured, Leaves Scene of Waldorf Crash With Mother Unharmed

WALDORF, Md. — Emergency crews responded Monday afternoon to a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Country Lane and Elm Street in Waldorf, raising concern for an infant reportedly seen inside one of the vehicles.
The collision occurred shortly after 1:30 p.m. on July 28, 2025, prompting multiple 911 calls. One caller reported a woman and a baby inside a vehicle that appeared to be trapped, prompting dispatch of fire and EMS for possible extrication.
Officers from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene by 1:40 p.m. Authorities later confirmed there was no entrapment.
A 30-year-old woman and a 6-month-old infant were evaluated by medics at the scene but did not require hospital transport.
By 2:30 p.m., emergency units had cleared the scene and traffic had returned to normal. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
