Deadly Pedestrian Accident in Smallwood Drive West Area

It was a chaotic scene on St. Patrick’s Drive on the night of September 14, 2023. Police, fire and rescue personnel rushed to the area of Smallwood Drive West in response to a serious motor vehicle accident that involved a pedestrian.

Around 10pm, the victim was struck by a pick-up truck while crossing St. Patrick’s Drive. The driver had been making a right turn onto St. Patrick’s Drive from Smallwood Drive and unfortunately, the pedestrian was not in a crosswalk. The preliminary investigation revealed that Marvin Jesus Mora Rodriguez, 58, of Waldorf had lost his life due to the accident. Fortunately, the driver stayed at the scene.

In the wake of this incident, investigators are hard at work to uncover the truth behind what happened.
