Toyota Scion Hits Pedestrian Resulting in Serious Injuries

In a tragic event on the evening of February 27th, a 61-year-old woman from Edgewater suffered severe injuries in an accident in Anne Arundel County. The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. at the intersection of Solomons Island Road and MD Route 665 in Parole.
The woman was walking along the travel lanes when she was struck by a 2006 Toyota Scion, which was merging onto MD Route 665 East from Solomons Island Road. As a result of the collision, she sustained life-threatening injuries and was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment.
Fortunately, the driver of the Toyota, a 42-year-old man from Annapolis, was unharmed. He stopped immediately after the accident to contact emergency services.
Police have suggested that heavy rainfall and the woman’s dark clothing may have contributed to the accident. The investigation into the incident is being conducted by the Anne Arundel County Traffic Safety Section.
