Car Accident: Victim Killed on Northbound Branch Ave and Earnshaw

Tragedy struck in Prince George’s County late Wednesday night as one woman lost her life in a two-vehicle crash. Another woman was hospitalized following the incident, which occurred at the intersection of Northbound Branch Avenue and Earnshaw Drive in Brandywine. Maryland State Police arrived at the scene just after 11:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a multiple-vehicle crash. Officers later found only two vehicles involved upon arrival.

The tragic accident occurred when a Hyundai was hit by a BMW. Upon preliminary investigation, it was determined that the Hyundai was attempting to make a left turn when the crash occurred. The collision resulted in critical injuries to the driver of the BMW and the loss of the passenger, 34-year-old Nickita Sammy of Accokeek. The driver was rushed to a nearby Baltimore trauma center.

While the cause of the crash is still unknown, the State Police have already begun their investigation. Once completed, the findings will be submitted to the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office for review. Many can only imagine the pain the families and loved ones of the victims are going through.
