20-year-old Man Dies in Car Crash in Frederick County

Tragedy struck in Frederick County yesterday afternoon around 1:30pm when a two-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Buckeystown Pike and Executive Way. According to the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO), one person has died as a result of the crash and another is undergoing treatment at a local trauma center for serious injuries. The deceased victim has been identified as 20-year-old Sotis Markfoff of Buckeystown, Maryland. 

Emergency Medical Services quickly arrived on the scene and rushed the driver and passenger of the other vehicle to the Frederick Health Hospital with injuries that are said to be non-life-threatening. The preliminary investigation has revealed that one vehicle was attempting a left turn onto Executive Way while the other vehicle was proceeding straight through the intersection. Officials have determined that neither driver appeared to have been impaired at the time of the incident.
