Motorcyclist Dies After Monrovia Crash

(WBFF) — A motorcycle driver died in a two-vehicle crash in Monrovia, according to Maryland State Police.

The driver’s identity is being held pending notification of next of kin.

Around 4:27 p.m., MSP troopers responded to the intersection of Maryland Route 80 and Kemptown Church Road for a reported two-vehicle crash.

Early returns from an investigation indicated the motorcycle was traveling southbound on Route 80 when a passenger vehicle turning off of Kemptown Church Road failed to yield and struck the motorcycle.

The motorcycle driver was pronounced dead on the scene. No other injuries were reported.

Witnesses at the scene told investigators the motorcycle had the right of way at the time of the collision.
The driver of the passenger vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with authorities.
Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses as part of the investigation.

The Maryland State Police Crash Team is leading the crash investigation, which remains active and ongoing.
