Incident Information

A violent multi-vehicle collision in Pikesville early Thursday morning claimed the life of a 31-year-old woman and sent two others to the hospital, Baltimore County police confirmed. The crash occurred at a busy residential intersection and has prompted an active investigation by the county’s crash reconstruction team.

Emergency responders were dispatched at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2026, to the intersection of Old Court Road and Harden Lane after multiple calls reported a serious collision involving at least two vehicles. Upon arrival, officers found a severe head-on crash with significant vehicle damage and injured occupants.

Preliminary investigation by the Baltimore County Police Department indicates that a 2016 Nissan Rogue, driven by 31-year-old Sydney Jones of Pikesville, was traveling westbound on Old Court Road when it unexpectedly crossed into the oncoming lane of traffic. The Rogue collided directly with a 2018 Audi Q5 that was heading in the opposite direction.

Jones was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel. Her role in the crash’s cause remains under investigation as police work to piece together whether any external factors — such as road conditions, vehicle malfunction, or human error — contributed to the Rogue’s crossover into opposing traffic.

A juvenile passenger riding in the Nissan was seriously injured in the impact and transported to a local hospital for treatment. At the time of reporting, the extent and condition of those injuries had not been publicly disclosed.

The driver of the Audi Q5 also suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken by ambulance to a nearby medical center for emergency care. Police have not released the identity of the second driver pending notification of family members.

Old Court Road was temporarily closed at Harden Lane while crash reconstruction teams processed the scene. Traffic was diverted for several hours as investigators conducted measurements, photographed evidence, and interviewed potential witnesses.

The Baltimore County Police Department’s Crash Team continues to examine the circumstances leading up to the collision. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or who has video footage from nearby traffic cameras is urged to contact authorities as the investigation proceeds.
