Motorcycle Accident: One Injured on Ritchie Highway

A motorcyclist sustained injuries and was transported to the hospital following a collision on Ritchie Highway in Anne Arundel County.

According to the Anne Arundel County Police Department (ACPD), the incident occurred just after 11 a.m. on Thursday near the intersection of Hamburg Street and Earleigh Heights Road. The crash involved a 2023 Honda motorcycle and a Hyundai Santa Fe.

Police reports indicate that the motorcyclist was traveling along Ritchie Highway when the Hyundai Santa Fe pulled out in front of the bike, resulting in the motorcyclist crashing into the rear of the SUV. The impact of the collision caused significant damage and led to the rider being ejected from the motorcycle.

Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, providing initial medical assistance before transporting the motorcyclist to the Shock Trauma unit for further treatment. As of Friday morning, there has been no update on the rider’s condition.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the crash to determine the cause and any potential charges that may be filed. The ACPD urges anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward as they work to piece together the events leading up to the collision.
