A woman was flown to a trauma center while three others went by ambulance
Incident Information
Four people received hospital treatment following a two-vehicle collision Tuesday afternoon on Three Notch Road in Lexington Park.
The crash was reported at approximately 2:35 p.m. on July 14, 2026, near the intersection of Three Notch Road and FDR Boulevard. The collision occurred near the Ledo Pizza restaurant.
Firefighters and emergency medical personnel arrived to find two damaged vehicles in the roadway. Multiple occupants required medical evaluation at the scene.
Three patients were taken by ambulance to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital. They included a 17-year-old girl who reportedly complained of chest pain and difficulty breathing. An 18-year-old woman also requested transportation for medical evaluation. The original account did not provide details about the third ambulance patient’s age or injuries.
Emergency personnel determined that another patient, described as a woman approximately 50 years old, required transportation to a regional trauma facility.
A Maryland State Police Aviation Command helicopter was requested. Trooper 7 landed nearby at Lexington Park Elementary School before transporting the woman to the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center.
The article did not identify any of the injured occupants. It also did not specify the makes and models of the two vehicles.
Authorities had not released information about the movements of the vehicles before impact or said whether either driver was suspected of speeding, distraction or impairment.
The collision remained under investigation. Additional information about the four patients’ conditions was not immediately available.
The use of both ground ambulances and an aviation unit reflected the number of people requiring treatment and the need to move one patient quickly to a facility equipped to handle potentially serious trauma.
Drivers in the area experienced temporary delays while responders treated the injured occupants, documented the crash scene and removed the vehicles.
