Pedestrian Hit on Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn Park Dies

BROOKLYN PARK, Md. — A pedestrian was fatally struck by an SUV early Tuesday morning in Brooklyn Park, Anne Arundel County police confirmed.
The crash happened around 4:45 a.m. on southbound Ritchie Highway near Hammonds Lane, according to FOX Baltimore. Investigators say the man, believed to be between 40 and 50 years old, was attempting to cross the highway from the west side when he was hit by a 1990 Chevrolet Suburban driven by a 59-year-old Baltimore man.
The driver and witnesses remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
The victim was taken to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he later died from his injuries. His identity has not yet been confirmed.
Anne Arundel County’s Traffic Safety Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating the circumstances of the collision.
