Motorcyclist Dies After West Baltimore Collision

A motorcycle rider died after a late-night collision in west Baltimore that also led to the arrest of the other driver on a driving-while-impaired charge, according to Baltimore Police.

Southwest District officers were called to the 100 block of North Hilton Street at approximately 10:37 p.m. on August 3, 2026, following a report of a vehicle crash involving an injury.

Investigators said a 66-year-old person operating a 2002 Ford collided with a 36-year-old motorcyclist. Baltimore Police did not specify the Ford’s model or the make and model of the motorcycle in their initial public statement.

The impact seriously injured the motorcycle rider. Emergency personnel transported him to an area hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Police had not publicly identified the rider in the advisory reviewed for this report.

Authorities said the Ford driver left the crash scene after the collision. Officers located the driver a short time later, and police subsequently arrested the 66-year-old and charged the person with DWI. The Baltimore Police Crash Team continued investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.

The combination of a fatality, an alleged departure from the collision scene and an impaired-driving charge makes the case dependent on further investigative findings. The initial police notice does not state what investigators believe caused the vehicles to collide or whether additional charges were being considered.
