37-Year-Old Towson Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash on I-695

A 37-year-old motorcyclist from Towson was killed Sunday night in a multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 695 that temporarily shut down all lanes of traffic.

The crash occurred around 9:05 p.m. on the inner loop of I-695 near Exit 30B for MD-41 Perring Parkway, according to the Maryland State Police Golden Ring Barrack.

The motorcyclist, identified as Jamahl Sutton, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Preliminary findings from the investigation indicate that Sutton was traveling at a high rate of speed and attempted to pass a Dodge Ram towing a flatbed trailer. He collided with the trailer, lost control of his motorcycle, and then struck a vehicle parked on the shoulder.

A passenger in the parked vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital in Baltimore, police said.

Following the incident, the Maryland State Highway Administration advised drivers to seek alternate routes as all lanes were closed. The highway fully reopened by 11:54 p.m. Sunday.
