Incident Information

A Glen Burnie motorcyclist died from injuries suffered in a collision with a passenger vehicle at a Linthicum intersection, according to Anne Arundel County police.

The crash happened at approximately 4:25 p.m. Sunday, September 20, at Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard and East Maple Road. Northern District officers responded to the intersection and requested the department’s Crash Reconstruction Team because of the severity of the collision.

Investigators said a 2026 Yamaha motorcycle was traveling south on Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard. At the same time, a 2017 Nissan traveling north approached East Maple Road and attempted to make a left turn onto the westbound roadway.

As the Nissan crossed the southbound lanes, the Yamaha collided with the passenger side of the car.

Police identified the motorcycle operator as Elias Crespo Tejada, 42, of Glen Burnie. Emergency personnel transported Tejada to an area trauma center with life-threatening injuries. He later died.

The Nissan was driven by a 67-year-old Linthicum man. Authorities reported that he was not injured.

The available police information does not indicate that charges had been filed. Investigators also had not publicly identified speed, impairment, distraction or another factor as contributing to the collision. The Anne Arundel County Police Department Crash Reconstruction Team is responsible for determining the circumstances surrounding the impact.

Left-turn crashes involving motorcycles can be particularly severe because a turning vehicle may cross directly through a rider’s path. In this case, however, responsibility for the collision remains an investigative matter, and the preliminary police findings should not be interpreted as a final determination of fault.

The intersection is in Linthicum in northern Anne Arundel County, between Baltimore and Glen Burnie.
