Ozella L. Oden was a board member of the First Church of Christ, a Scientist, and an active volunteer who died in an automobile accident on March 23. The Stone Hill resident was 31. Ms. Oden was a warehouse manager and homemaker who was en route to collect donations for Food Rescue Baltimore when the accident occurred on Interstate 695.
Ms. Oden’s sister, Molly Rima Hoopes, said Ms. Oden had been excited about attending the United for Ukraine fundraiser and was looking forward to having a fun night out. Ms. Oden left the fundraiser early to go to Trader Joe’s in Pikesville, and she was involved in a single-car accident on I-695 near the Reisterstown Road exit. Ms. Hoopes said Ms. Oden was an amazing sister and friend, and she will be deeply missed. Ms. Oden’s family is working with authorities to investigate the cause of the accident, and they are requesting privacy during this difficult time.
