On Thursday morning, a head-on collision in Prince George’s County left one woman dead and another woman seriously injured. Police responded to the scene of the crash on Regency Parkway around 1:30 a.m., and a preliminary investigation found that both drivers had been travelling in opposite directions. For reasons that are still under investigation, one of the drivers crossed the double yellow line and struck the other driver head-on. The impact of the crash killed one of the drivers, 20-year-old Shanya Hoover, instantly. The other driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Investigators are still working to determine exactly what led up to the crash. Our thoughts are with the families of those affected by this tragedy.
