Two SUVs and Amazon Delivery Van Collide, One Person Airlifted to Nearby Hospital

On Monday, February 3, 2025, at approximately 6:13 p.m., police, firefighters, and emergency medical services responded to a serious motor vehicle collision involving an Amazon delivery van with a possible entrapment at 23263 Colton Point Road in Avenue.

Upon arrival, crews discovered two SUVs involved in the crash, with no entrapment. Emergency responders immediately began evaluating the patients, and it was determined that one required additional medical care. EMS called for a helicopter to transport one patient, and Maryland State Police Helicopter Trooper 2 landed nearby to airlift the patient to a local trauma center.

One patient was transported by ground to a nearby hospital with minor injuries, while the third patient was evaluated on-site. It remains unclear whether the third patient was transported or chose to refuse care. Law enforcement is investigating the cause of the collision, and crews worked to clear the scene safely. The roadway was temporarily impacted during the emergency response but has since been reopened.
