MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (7News) — A fatal crash in Montgomery County on Wednesday morning resulted in one death and left another person with life-threatening injuries, according to officials.

The collision occurred around 11:27 a.m. at the intersection of Darnestown Road and Cattail Road. Montgomery County Police (MCPD) reported that a tractor-trailer and a Ford Fusion were involved in the crash. The driver of the Ford Fusion was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in the Ford was transported to a nearby hospital with critical injuries. The intersection remains fully closed as police continue their investigation.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased driver. The driver of the tractor-trailer remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, MCPD said.
