Motorcycle Collides with 2007 Dodge Ram Resulting in Death

Fatal motorcycle accident in La Plata Claims the life of 18 year old Nicholas Eric Raybon. On Sunday November 6, 2016 at 10:45 pm a 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 being driven by Bernard Gregor Torreyson was making a left turn from Maryland Route 6 also known as Port Tobacco Road onto Hilltop Road. At the same time Nicholas Eric Raybon was driving a 2006 Suzuki GS-500 motorcycle west on Route 6 in the vicinity of where Torreyson was turning. Investigators say that Torreyson failed to yeild to oncoming traffic and turned in front of the Suzuki causing the crash. Nicholas Eric Raybon was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

Raybon was transported to the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center after life-saving measures were performed at the scene of the collision. He was later pronounced dead from his injuries. Investigators say that “driver error appears to be a factor in the collision.” The investigation into the fatal crash is ongoing.
