Pedestrian Accident: Victim Killed on Landover and Neighbor Lane

Tragedy struck on the night of New Year’s Day in Cheverly when a hit-and-run incident claimed the life of a pedestrian. The Prince George’s County Police Department were called to the scene of the collision, at the intersection of Landover Road and Neighbor Lane, after receiving a report of the accident. Upon arrival, they discovered a man lying unresponsive in the roadway, the victim of what appeared to be a deadly hit-and-run incident.

Sadly, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck by the driver. Unfortunately, details about the pedestrian remain unknown, including his name, age, and origin. The driver, who was traveling northbound on Landover Road at the time of the accident, fled the scene and has not yet been identified.

Fortunately, investigators are on the case and working diligently to gather information on the collision. Police are urging anyone with information to come forward. As they piece together the details, they will be able to better understand what led up to this devastating event and hopefully identify the make and model of the vehicle involved. It’s a sobering reminder of the importance of staying vigilant and aware on the roads, especially during holidays when accidents tend to increase.
