Dog Bites 16-Year-Old Teen Girl In Callaway Maryland Resulting In Hospital Stay

On August 6, at approximately 1:30 p.m., emergency responders were dispatched to Piney Point Road in Callaway, Maryland, for reports that a teenage girl had been attacked by a dog. When crews arrived, they found a 16-year-old female who had been attacked by a Pitbull or Rottweiler.
The victim was treated at the scene for her injuries and then transported to an area hospital by ambulance.
When police arrived at the scene, they found the victim lying on the ground with serious injuries to her upper body. She was bleeding profusely, but she was conscious and alert. First responders quickly began providing medical assistance, and she was rushed to the hospital for treatment. The victim is expected to recover from her injuries, but the incident is still under investigation.
The dog was taken into custody by St. Mary’s County Animal Services and is currently being held at the St. Mary’s County Animal Shelter. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
