Incident Information

In a distressing encounter reported to WJZ, Walter Brown, a resident of East Baltimore, recounted a harrowing experience where his vehicle was struck by a semi-truck.

Alarmingly, the truck did not stop after the collision but instead continued to push Brown’s car down the road amidst oncoming traffic, resulting in a hit-and-run. Shaken by the ordeal, Brown witnessed the incident partially through his security footage, expressing his fear that he could have been crushed or pushed into an immovable structure.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:20 a.m. on Thursday, as Brown was on his way to work via Biddle Street.

The semi-truck’s front collided with Brown’s car’s rear, spinning it out of control. Despite Brown’s attempts to alert the truck driver with his horn, the truck maliciously propelled his car to a collision with a parked pickup truck and then hastily departed the scene. Brown’s frantic emergency call was met with neighborhood support, notably from Rafael Ramirez, who discovered car debris right at his door.

This unsettling event led Brown to the hospital with minor injuries, but it left him with a totaled car and a threat to his livelihood, as he is employed on a commission basis.

Baltimore Police are currently investigating the strike-and-run dilemma, and Brown is appealing to the local community for additional security footage that might offer a clearer identification of the egregious truck, emphasizing his plight for justice.

If you have any information regarding this vehicle or the event, you are urged to notify the Baltimore City Police.

How a Maryland Semi-Truck Accident Lawyer Can Help

Proving fault and holding the guilty party liable after a truck accident can be challenging. Though you might think it is obvious who was at fault, insurance companies will often do whatever they can to deny fault and protect their client, especially when that client. Thus, handling these kinds of cases typically requires the assistance of an attorney.

Personal injury attorneys work to help their injured clients seek justice and recover as much compensation as possible. They have experience dealing with insurers and know what it takes to provide the necessary evidence to prove the fault of the guilty party. Without an attorney, the insurance company will likely offer you a low settlement amount that is much less than you deserve.
