School Bus Crashes Into Parkville Building

Three people were transported to hospitals after a school bus carrying Maryland School for the Blind students crashed into a building in Parkville.

The incident occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m. on July 21, 2026. The bus entered the structure and became fully lodged inside, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department.

Three children and two adults were reportedly aboard the bus. One student, the bus driver and another adult associated with the crash were taken to hospitals with injuries described as minor.

At least eight additional people were evaluated at the scene and declined hospital transportation.

Authorities indicated that at least three vehicles may have been involved, although investigators cautioned that the number could change as they reconstructed the sequence of events. The makes and models of those vehicles were not released.

The precise cause of the collision remained unknown. Officials did not say whether a mechanical problem, driver action, medical emergency or another vehicle caused the bus to leave the roadway and enter the building.

Witnesses and nearby business owners helped students leave the bus after the impact. One witness said a student jumped from the vehicle and appeared terrified. Bystanders assisted that student and helped the other children reach safety.

The Maryland School for the Blind thanked firefighters, emergency medical personnel, law-enforcement officers and hospital employees for their response and care.

The collision caused temporary road closures while emergency crews stabilized the scene, examined the damaged building and removed the bus. Police later announced that the affected roads had reopened.

Although the crash caused substantial structural and vehicle damage, officials expressed relief that the reported injuries were minor.

The investigation continued, and authorities had not announced citations or charges.
