Pedestrian Killed on Southbound Rt. 295 at Nursery Road
Incident Information
Early this morning, troopers from the Glen Burnie Barrack responded to a report of a pedestrian being struck on Route 295 in Anne Arundel County. Upon arrival, they found Marian Narain, 21, lying on the road. Narain was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel. The preliminary investigation indicates that Narain was operating a white Volkswagen SUV and was traveling southbound on Route 295 when she struck a guardrail and went off the road. The vehicle came to a stop 10-15 feet over the guardrail. Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Route 295 in Howard County. Narain’s Volkswagen SUV was traveling southbound on Route 295 when it veered off of the road and crashed. Narain exited her vehicle and entered the roadway on foot when she was subsequently struck by oncoming traffic. Maryland State Police from the Glen Burnie Barrack and Waterloo Barrack responded to the scene. Personnel from the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration also assisted with road closures and detours. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact police at 410-761-5130.
