Incident Information

A tragic multi-vehicle crash in Glen Burnie has left one person dead and three others injured, according to the Anne Arundel County Police Department. The crash occurred at around 12:50 p.m. on southbound Ritchie Highway and Marley Station Road. It’s reported that a Toyota Tundra failed to stop at a red light and collided with a Chevrolet Equinox that was turning left into the Marley Station Mall. A BMW was also involved in the accident and was hit by both vehicles.

According to police, the driver of a Tundra, Pedro Beltran, suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Bayview Hospital. The passenger, a 13-year-old, was taken to Baltimore Washington Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Equinox, Miguel Deleon, was taken to R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. Sadly, the passenger of the Equinox, Brandon Deleon, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police suspect the driver of the Tundra had been drinking and was speeding, leading to the tragic accident. Police allege that Beltran was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident, which resulted in multiple charges including negligent manslaughter, criminally negligent manslaughter, and homicide.

Beltran is also facing charges for life-threatening injury by motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or impaired by alcohol, as well as for driving under the influence while transporting a minor and driving while impaired with alcohol while transporting a minor. This is a serious situation that is still under investigation, and the outcome remains to be seen.
