A young woman was flown to a trauma center after being struck by a vehicle in Lexington Park, Maryland, in a Saturday night crash that remains under police investigation.

According to The BayNet, the incident was reported at about 9:20 p.m. on June 20, 2026, near the area of Great Mills Road and Eric Road. Initial emergency dispatch information indicated that a 20-year-old woman had been hit by a vehicle and was found off the roadway across from Eric Road along Great Mills Road.

When first responders arrived, the woman was reported to be conscious, alert, and breathing. However, emergency crews noted injuries that included road rash, bleeding, and hip pain. EMS personnel placed the patient in an ambulance and consulted with SYSCOM to determine whether air transport was needed.

Maryland State Police Aviation Trooper 7 responded to the scene and transported the woman by helicopter to a trauma center for further treatment. The article did not identify the vehicle involved, the driver, or the make and model of the vehicle.
