A tragic accident took place the morning of July 6th on Leonardtown Road that left one person injured and trapped in their SUV. The College Park Volunteer Fire Department’s fire truck, Foam 812, was parked on the side of the road when it was hit from behind by an SUV. The details of what caused the accident are still unclear, but it is known that the driver of the SUV was seriously hurt. 

Arriving on the scene in record time, emergency personnel quickly assessed the situation and called for the assistance of the skilled firefighters who were able to safely extract the trapped patient from the mangled SUV. Thanks to their hard work and determination, the patient was swiftly transported to UM Capital Region Trauma Center to receive the vital treatment they required. Despite the danger, the crew members of Foam 812 were unharmed in the crash.
