Car Accident: 2 Women Killed on Route 100 in Maryland

Authorities in Howard County are currently investigating a devastating three-car collision that occurred in Ellicott City during the early hours of Sunday morning.

According to police reports, an Acura was traveling in the wrong direction along Route 100 westbound at approximately 2:05 a.m. The Acura collided with a Subaru Forester and a Lincoln Town Car in the vicinity of Snowden River Parkway.

Tragically, both drivers of the Acura and Subaru, identified as women, were pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident. Miraculously, the driver of the Lincoln emerged from the collision unharmed.

Initial investigations suggest that the driver of the Acura was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the collision, raising questions about the circumstances leading to this heartbreaking incident. The investigation into the cause of the crash remains ongoing as authorities work tirelessly to uncover the truth behind this tragic event.

In the wake of this devastating collision, Route 100 westbound was temporarily closed for approximately four hours, disrupting traffic as emergency responders and investigators worked diligently at the scene.
