Pedestrian Accident: One Killed on Laurel Ford Meade Road

A tragic incident unfolded in Maryland City on Wednesday morning, as a pedestrian lost his life in a collision involving a truck, according to Anne Arundel Police. Responding officers arrived at the intersection of Laurel Ford Meade Road (Route 198) and Old Annapolis Road around 11:10 a.m., as detailed in a news release.

Initial findings from the investigation indicate that David Michael Pulaski, aged 37 and hailing from Rockville, was crossing Old Annapolis Road at a traffic light on Laurel Fort Meade Road when he was struck by a 2019 Ford F-250 Super Duty pickup truck turning right onto the highway. Tragically, Pulaski was pronounced deceased at the scene by Anne Arundel County Fire Department personnel.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the police department had not attributed fault to either Pulaski or the driver, a resident of Kansas, according to department spokesperson Marc Limansky.

Regrettably, Pulaski was the second casualty on Laurel Fort Meade Road that day. Just after midnight, authorities discovered Jeff Charles’ overturned 2019 Jeep Wrangler near the intersection with Laurel Racetrack Road in Laurel. Police reports indicate that Charles was traveling west in the eastbound lanes of Laurel Fort Meade Road when his vehicle veered off course, striking a guardrail and causing the Jeep to overturn. Charles was ejected upon impact and succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The circumstances leading to Charles’ driving on the wrong side of the road remain unclear, as stated by the police.

Both incidents, occurring roughly a mile apart, are under investigation by the police department’s Traffic Safety Section.
