Child Injured in Lexington Park T-Bone Car Crash

Incident Information

On Saturday, November 1, 2025, at around 3:05 p.m., police, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel were dispatched to the intersection of Great Mills Road and Australia Drive in Lexington Park following reports of a motor vehicle collision with injuries.

Officers arrived on scene within two minutes and found a two-vehicle, T-bone style crash. Initial reports indicated one person was trapped, but responding firefighters from the Bay District Volunteer Fire Department—nine members in total, arriving with Engine 32, Squad 3, Chief 3, and Chief 3A—confirmed that no entrapment had occurred.

Emergency medical services assessed four patients at the scene and requested a medevac helicopter as a precaution for a pediatric patient. Maryland State Police Aviation Command Trooper 7 landed nearby and transported the child, along with an accompanying adult family member, to Children’s National Hospital.

Two additional patients with non-life-threatening injuries were transported by ambulance to MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
