Four Hospitalized After Four-Vehicle Collision in Annapolis

A four-vehicle crash near an Annapolis shopping and office area injured six people Monday afternoon, sending four of them to hospitals.

The collision occurred at approximately 4 p.m. Monday, August 24, near 65 Old Solomons Island Road, close to the Olde Solomons Office Center.

The Annapolis Fire Department reported that six people were injured in total. Four patients were transported to hospitals with injuries characterized as serious but non-life-threatening. Two other people declined additional medical treatment at the scene.

Neither police nor firefighters immediately released the names of those involved. The initial report also did not identify the makes or models of the four vehicles.

Because several vehicles and patients were involved, police temporarily closed Old Solomons Island Road between Forest Drive and Somerville Road while emergency responders treated the injured and officers conducted their initial investigation.

Authorities had not publicly established a cause when the article was published. No immediate information was available about which vehicle initiated the collision, whether speed or distraction was suspected, or whether citations were issued.

The crash occurred in a developed commercial corridor near several major Annapolis roads.
